The Mini VersaLight from Lumitex Medical Devices is optimized for orthopedic surgery. Standing 3.6-in. shorter than the company’s standard VersaLight, it features a straight horizontal profile and an extended tip for easy insertion and added reach in minimally invasive incisions.
The surgical illuminator is suited for spine, hip, shoulder, plastic/maxillofacial, and oral surgery, as well as other orthopedic procedures. It provides cool, bright, uniform, and shadowless light using a patented technology, as well as irrigation, aspiration, and retraction capabilities to save operating time, space, and cost. It’s ergonomically designed for comfort in any hand position, and surgeons can choose between more or less suction with a conveniently located finger-controlled aspiration hole. It also irrigates at the push of a button to provide a controlled fluid stream on demand.
The Mini VersaLight attaches easily to standard hospital OR tubing to provide sterile irrigation from a standard infusion pump, requires no capital investment, and offers a lower cost-per-use.

I actually think this technology is going to be used for other aspects as well. As a dallas plastic surgeon, professionally speaking I can see additional uses. I love the increase we're seeing in medical technology these days. I think one day soon we'll beat all the major diseases.
