Mako Surgical to Add Up to 100 Jobs in Florida

Mako Surgical Corp. will be adding up to 100 jobs in South Florida as part of an expansion plan. The company will be building its RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic system in a new Fort Lauderdale facility. According to a company release, Mako Surgical does business with 82 suppliers in Florida.

Both the Governor of Florida and Mako's president and CEO Maurice Ferre, MD are excited about the prospects that the new site will offer. “MAKO’s decision to grow in the South Florida community clearly shows why Florida has the right ingredients for innovative companies to expand and thrive in the Sunshine State,” said Governor Rick Scott in a company release. “These jobs illustrate the need to train Florida students for the science, technology, engineering and math jobs that will come with the continued growth of Florida’s high-tech sector.
