Loos & Co. (Pomfret, CT) has opened a medical technologies division focusing on the manufacture of medical-grade wire, cable, and assembly products.

The specially designed production area is separate from the company’s current manufacturing floor and incorporates additional cleaning processes to meet medical industry requirements, according to a press release. It features wire drawing, cable stranding, and a dedicated stress relieving line.

Products are available in a range of stainless steel and high nickel alloys, including 304V, 316L, 17-4PH, and Hastelloy. Other alloys are available upon request. The company offers round, flat, and shaped wire in sizes ranging from .0025 in. to .156 in. Cable can be constructed from any available alloy with 2–133 wires and in sizes from .008 in. to .094 in. Cable assemblies can be custom constructed for specific requirements.
