The company anticipates that the site will be up and running by the end of next year, and it will be adding up to 60 jobs to the site by the end of 2013. It made the announcements this week at MD&M Minneapolis.

In what the company says is the first of its kind in the world, Fort Wayne Metals (Fort Wayne, IN) is opening a melt facility that is solely dedicated to manufacturing materials used for medical devices. Located in Columbia City, IN, the advanced materials development site will feature a custom melt process that will be used to melt nitinol and other high performance alloys such as custom titanium.
